We’re a group of healthcare industry professionals with decades of clinical, operational, financial, and technology experience. We work to change the healthcare industry from the inside, but we realize that the financial incentives at play meant that certain “common-sense” tools and research rarely get funded.

We also realize that the short-cycle profit motive of companies simply does not align well with the fact that chronic disease manifests over decades. In traditional Fee-For-Service (FFS) healthcare, companies lose money if patients avoid chronic disease. Even in more advanced payment models like Value-Based Care (VBC) the time-cycle is short, usually being < 1 year.

Neither FFS or VBC models provide funding for models targeted at patients that want to avoid chronic disease over a time window that is > 5 years, aka the majority of US residents. The only models that work for this population are direct to consumer (D2C), governmentally funded (single payer), or thoughtfully incorporated and governed private (i.e. not for profits, b-corps, co-ops).
